OTC Foundation
The OTC Foundation works through a global network of local chapters and supports the creation of new OTC chapters. The sharing of our expertise among members strengthens capacity for surgical practice and improves patient outcomes.
Our organization includes 19 local OTC chapters around the world. We offer services to these chapters and other affiliated organizations by interlinking them through common meetings.

Chairman: Pieter-Jan De Roo
Pieter-Jan De Roo leads the board as chairman, combining his strong leadership skills with a specialized expertise in hip and pelvis trauma. His extensive medical background and commitment to the growth and success of OTC drive the organization forward, ensuring that our training programs remain at the forefront of educational development and clinical excellence.

Our previous chairman, Stefan Clockaerts, incoming president of the OTC Foundation, continues to play a vital role on the board, bringing his deep understanding of OTC’s history and strategic vision. - Filip Stockmans
Professor Filip Stockmans is a distinguished expert in hand and wrist surgery. His extensive expertise in research, combined with his wide-reaching national and international network, brings significant value to OTC. His connections and insights help expand the organization’s reach and keep its programs aligned with the latest advancements in the field. - Bernard Struelens
Bernard Struelens brings his expertise in elbow and shoulder surgery to the board, adding a valuable medical perspective to OTC’s leadership adds a wealth of knowledge in operations and management to the board. His contributions help ensure that OTC’s programs run smoothly and efficiently. - Nele Roels
Dr. Nele Roels is a general surgeon with an additional specialization in trauma surgery. She is currently employed at the Defense Medical Service, where she applies her skills in a demanding and dynamic environment.
Educational Manager: Delphine Hamers
Delphine Hamers serves as the Educational Manager at OTC, where she oversees the design and implementation of our training programs. With a background as a scrub nurse specializing in foot and ankle, as well as spine surgery, she brings hands-on expertise to her role. Additionally, Delphine is a skilled study and data coordinator, ensuring that our educational initiatives are supported by rigorous data and evidence-based practices. Her commitment to academic excellence and innovation helps keep OTC’s courses aligned with the evolving needs of healthcare professionals.
